Richard T. Lauer
Rick Lauer is a litigation partner of Robbins, Kelly, Patterson & Tucker. Rick helps his clients resolve disputes with a results-oriented approach that maximizes outcomes while minimizing the costs, delay and distractions associated with litigation. Most of his clients are privately-held companies and their owners, who seek results and practical solutions to their legal issues. Rick has represented parties in the state and federal courts of Ohio and Kentucky.
In 2008, the Cincinnati Bar Association named Rick the Real Property Law Practitioner of the Year. For 15 years, he has represented property owners in real estate-related disputes with state and local government agencies, and neighboring property owners. He handles zoning and land use cases, eminent domain proceedings, real estate contract disputes and other real property matters.
Rick has also represented clients who have been seriously injured by negligent motorists, defective products or unsafe premises. He has been involved in several multi-million dollar injury settlements and, when necessary, has achieved excellent results for clients at trial. Early in his career, Rick spent several years representing insurance companies during which time he learned how they value cases, the most effective trial strategies, and techniques to achieve a rapid and fair settlement.
Rick and his wife Melissa live in Amberley Village, Ohio and have twin girls. He is a member of the Pleasant Ridge Montessori Local School Decision Making Committee, and the Amberley Green Citizens Advisory Committee. When he is not practicing law, Rick enjoys attending Reds and Bengals games, listening to music, gardening, and playing with his kids.
