James M. Kelly: We have nine attorneys on staff that handle litigation, and many of them are involved in business disputes. The first thing that happens when a client comes to us with a business dispute is to analyze the problem. How did it become a problem? What are the essential facts? With the essential facts, we then talk with our client to try to establish what the client is trying to get as a result out of the dispute. What are the pros and what are the cons? And once we've analyzed the problem, what we try to do is to get a result for the client as quickly and as expeditiously as possible so that it doesn't end up in court.
Richard T. Lauer: I tell my clients that the time to call is before they end up with a dispute they can't solve on their own.
