Brenon R. Russell joined Robbins, Kelly, Patterson & Tucker in 2024, where he focuses his practice on personal planning, estate planning, and trust and estate administration, with a particular emphasis on elder law and taxable estate planning. Before joining RKPT, Brenon worked at a large local firm, smaller firms in Central Ohio and as a federal judicial clerk for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
Brenon takes a client-centric approach to practicing law. He invests time early on in a relationship to fully understand his client’s goals and builds options to achieve those goals. Then, he works with the client to prepare a plan that will best serve their unique needs. Whether helping a high net-worth family minimize estate tax liability or helping a family plan for current or future options for long-term care, his goal is to maximize savings, plan for the future, and pass on a legacy to future generations. Brenon’s clients find that he is empathetic, can connect with anyone, and is honored to help families find creative solutions to complex problems they thought were unsolvable. He can ease tension in a challenging situation and help clients minimize the stress that may come with discussing and making decisions about planning for the later stages of life.
Family is the center of Brenon’s world. He and his wife had three children in the space of four years, and all their names, including the family dog Bernard, begin with the letter “B.” When he is not working, you can find Brenon watching or playing just about any sport, supporting the Conner High School Baseball team and Thomas More University, and attending and serving at Seven Hills Church. He also spends much of his time with his huge extended family, usually on a golf course or anywhere he can enjoy a sip or two of bourbon.
